OUR MISSION :
"The W.I.S.H. Lions are committed to sponsoring projects that enhance the quality of life In the area with a particular focus on children. "
The W.I.S.H. Lions of Wahkon, Izatys and South Harbor are a 501-C organization (Tax-Exempt). We are incorporated as a nonprofit in the state of Minnesota, and are dedicated to helping the people, and especially the children, of our area. The W.I.S.H. Lions are located in central Minnesota on the South shore of Mille Lacs Lake. Because we are an all-volunteer organization, our fund-raising costs are at or near zero. WE SERVE
Nearly 1.4 million Lions members in 193 countries and geographic areas answer the needs that challenge the communities of the world. Lions tackle tough problems like blindness, drug abuse prevention and diabetes awareness. Lions members?men and women?provide immediate and sustained relief in time of disaster and offer long-term assistance to those in need. Lions collect over 5.5 million pairs of recycled eyeglasses for distribution in developing countries and treat millions of people to prevent river blindness.
